By posting anonymously, the one who post will not have to take any responsibility. The ones who comment under the post, despite using their own Facebook accounts, have almost no responsibility for their comments even it may contribute to heated debates or personal attacks. People will not care about the consequences but only using this online affinity space to express themselves subjectively.
Having no responsibility often results in flaming, a form of hostile and insulting interaction among Internet users in an emotional discussion. Sometimes, some particular posts arouse users’ attention and dissatisfaction that even leads to cyberbullying like a “human search engine” to find out the profile of that particular person that everyone picks on. It invades people’s privacy and the original use of digital media to communication.
Besides, since members in the CityU Secrets will not be posting on their own, they have to get their things posted by the Page’s admin. It sometimes leads to filtering where the admin purposefully select wordings or things they want to show in the community to attract people or put something interesting up for debates.
With information being overloaded in the Page, and having user-created content, the credibility of posts is often questioned. While credibility is defined as the attitude of the receiver, whether believing a source or not, CityU Secrets’ posts without official management from the University are often regarded as not too credible.
However, most users from this community are not looking for official information, they are rather looking for a fun, relaxing way to know more about the school and interact with each other by discussing issues about the University. With a certain education level, most members are able to differentiate which information is real and which are not.

Most users, despite the presence of some fake news or updates of the University, will still keep sharing the post without finding out whether the source is real or not. This created a potential problem of misleading members in the community.
While CityU Secrets seems to connect users and form a huge community, yet, most members are isolated from each other in the real world. The connection and the bonding formed are basically strong ONLY on this platform.
